Why Any of This Matters

You’re Not Crazy

There’s a reason life feels heavier than it should. Not just busy or overwhelming—but a deeper reality that something in us, and in this world, is just—off. Fractured. And no matter how hard we try, we can never seem to fully repair it on our own.

You’re not crazy—the Bible calls it sin. It’s the corruption of all that God created and called good and unfortunately, it is present within every human being.

God is holy. Perfect, whole, untouched by any of that brokenness. So when sin came on the scene, the perfect relationship He intended to have with us was severed.

Something had to bridge the gap.

And that’s where Jesus comes in—God Himself, stepping into our world. He lived without sin, and then willingly took on the weight of ours. Not to condemn us, but to make a way back.

He died, and then rose again—proving that sin and death don’t get the final say.

Because of Him, forgiveness is real. Restoration is possible.

And you don’t have to clean yourself up first.

You’re invited

Come as you are and then watch Him transform your life as you begin an abiding relationship with Him—not based on striving, but on grace.

Everything else—healing, growth, peace, even change—comes from there. Belonging comes first.

If this resonates with you, you can simply tell Him that. Right where you are. No perfect words required—then find yourself a good, Bible believing church and ask someone to disciple you. I know they will be thrilled to come along beside you.

Trust Him today. Ask Him to save you, receive His forgiveness, and let Him hold your heart completely.

The Scripture Behind This

If you’re ready to go deeper, I’ve written out just a handful of foundational truths from the Bible below for you to explore. Scripture is not exhaustive—this is just a place to start.

Something is broken (the weight we feel)

Romans 8:22–23
“For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.” (This isn’t just your personal experience—Scripture says the whole world carries this weight.)

Ecclesiastes 3:11
“He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.” (God has placed a longing in each of our hearts for something greater than ourselves and we cannot fully comprehend the scope of His plans.)

Sin is real (in all of us)

Romans 3:23
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”

Jeremiah 17:9
“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?”

Psalm 51:5
“Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.”

I John 1:8
“If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.”

God is holy (and the relationship was broken)

Isaiah 6:3
“And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.”

Psalm 99:9
“Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at his holy hill; for the LORD our God is holy.”

Genesis 3:23–24
“Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken. So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.”

Isaiah 59:2
“But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.”

Jesus stepped in—sinless—fully God, fully human

Romans 6:23 (sin requires a payment, a sacrifice)
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

2 Corinthians 5:21
“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”

John 1:14
“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”

Colossians 2:9
“For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.”

Hebrews 4:15
“For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.”

He carried our sin (not to condemn, but to save)

Romans 5:8
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

1 Peter 2:24
“Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.”

John 3:17
“For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”

1 Corinthians 15:3–4
“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”

Responding to Him—just as you are(grace, not striving)

Romans 10:9–10
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

Romans 10:13
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Psalm 34:18
“The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.”

Matthew 11:28
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

Acts 16:31
“And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.”

1 John 1:9
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Ephesians 2:8–9
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

What grows from belonging

Philippians 1:6 (Eternal Life - you cannot lose your salvation)
“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:”

John 15:5 (relationship, acceptance, belonging)
“I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.”

Romans 8:15–16 (freedom from the power of sin)
“For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:”

I John 1:9, 2:1 (ongoing forgiveness)
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

“My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous"

Ephesians 1:7
“In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;”

This is where it begins.

Romans 5:1
“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:” (italics mine)

2 Corinthians 5:17
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” (italics mine)
